Large foliage plants create drama and enthusiasm. They are easy for the eye to look and and define. It is the difference of looking at a painted wall and one with printed floral wallpaper. Sometimes you need the detailed accents, sometimes you need the solid. Same is true with plants.
I find that using large foliage plants especially in pots is a dramatic way to make a statement. They also create “walls” on a temporary basis when you need it in the summer.
