The All Important Fall Garden

Recently, there has been a chill in the air reminding us to enjoy the days of warm sun, leaves on the trees and the last of our summer gardens. But if you have planned ahead, you can enjoy a beautiful fall garden as well as a winter garden.

In the foreground is Sedum Autumn Joy that is just now becoming pink and will turn a deep burgundy around Thanksgiving. These can be cut and put in vases as well. Miscanthis grasses are also my favorite because they too will bloom now, turn brown and can stay in the garden until the snow covers them.

The plants are hardy and beautiful and here are some additional ideas. What do you have in your garden to bring life to your fall garden?
