One of my favorite projects was this New Englander meets Modern. The project scope was to own the fact that this 1910 New Englander needed an addition renovation and the client’s design aesthetic is modern so from the minute entering the house, one experiences absolute modern elements while the modern is only visible from the back of the exterior.
In the before and after photos you can see the funky additions that the home endured through the years, so our goal was to streamline the rooflines and create a modern addition and connector to the existing garage.
Inside the home, we completed a total gut and on the first floor created a new kitchen with a waterfall countertop, a living area with a fireplace, dining room with a record wall that is technically structural. The mudroom connector has poured and polished concrete floors with access to a basement family room as well as the garage and finished space over the garage. The second floor created a master suite in the addition to, renovated kid’s bath, and hallway of storage.
This home grew from the 1800sq ft living space to 3000sf living space for a growing family. The home blends the existing square footage to the addition beautifully to create four bedrooms, three baths, living, dining, kitchen, playroom, family room, mudroom, laundry, and a two-car garage.
