Do you like your countertop? A countertop can make or break a room, not only how it looks but also how it functions.
Typically, your countertop gets the most use so spend the time to make sure that it is exactly what you want. When selecting your countertop, make sure that you do it at the same time as the cabinet and floor so that you don’t limit your choices.
People often ask me what my design aesthetic is and I stumble a bit at the answer because it is easier to say what I don’t like than what I do like. So when designing this renovation, I decided to go with my gut to see where I would land. In all honesty, I have tortured myself over literally every single decision on the project.. I have a very patient husband!
With the cork floor that is light and has a lot of movement, and the oak cabinets that have movement in the grain, I needed a stable, solid countertop. I chose Ceasarstone, Sleek Concrete. It is beautiful and graceful and pulls the room together! Phew, I was nervous!
Now the tile can be installed, then the hood exhaust and floating shelves! Last guy in my kitchen will be the painter, let’s hope soon!
