Every kitchen that I have designed in the last few years, the clients have requested a walk-in pantry. Many of which also have the refrigerator located in the pantry. Why? Several reasons:
1) It allows for you to spend less money on cabinetry with simple open shelving.
2) It allows for you to spend less money on cabinetry with simple open shelving. Kitchens can have a much more clean look and controlled flow.
3) The Refrigerator: If the layout allows for the refrigerator to in the pantry (and yes, flow is very important) you no longer have to buy a fancy, high-end refrigerator. You can also supplement by having refrigerator drawers in one location of the kitchen.
