This sweet historical cape located in the countryside of New Hampshire couldn’t have a sweeter, young family living in it. The original house had two bedrooms, but with three kids quickly getting older and larger, they decided to add two more bedrooms. One of the greatest parts of this project is that my clients completely stayed within the scope of the original project.
While we discussed an option to make the addition larger and add another bathroom, they wanted to respect the original rooflines of the house and not go above it (right decision) as well as stay on budget with the project. Therefore, the two bedrooms were added above the addition that was added in the ‘80s and we kept the roofline low with functional windows.
The kids love their new, creative spaces where they live, sleep and play! Tucked within the roofline, this project is a great way to show people how to respect the history of a home while adjusting it to meet modern and functional needs.
