This traditional New England home located in New Castle, New Hampshire, was a big project in more ways than one. Primarily, it was large in scale because it involved an addition that was itself one and a half times the size of the original structure! Secondly, the original home had very complex rooflines, and the design of the addition added to that complexity, so we worked hard to keep the consistency throughout both parts and maintain the traditional style of the home. Luckily, although the rooflines were varied, the ground level throughout the site was quite flat, making that part of our work virtually effortless. The homeowners enjoy modern details, so we played with the coloring of the upper and lower parts of the exterior, adding interest to a very traditional New England home. We used Marvin Windows in varying shapes and styles to create function and visual appeal.
