What are Stone Fabricators?

You’ve heard the term before but what are stone fabricators? Well, they are the very talented guys that physically measure and cut the stone that goes in your kitchens, bathroom or anywhere you have a stone surface.

What are stone fabricators? They are the guys that somehow fit these huge, heavy pieces of granite, marble, soapstone, quartzite and other stones into your space and perfectly apply a sink and/ or backsplash. And if you have a really good stone fabricator, the seam between pieces is almost invisible to the eye and touch.

Are you working on renovating or building a new bathroom or kitchen? If so, chances are you are in the market for some sort of stone and you need a stone fabricator. Here is the process to follow:

  • Determine the amount of stone that you need by either having a kitchen design scaled appropriately or measuring the existing space.
  • Select the stone. You can go to several stone yards that are convenient to you such as Boston Granite Exchange or Marble & Granite. I suggest doing some research online prior to going to the yard so that you have an idea of what you are looking for. I currently have Ceasarstone and Colorquartz samples at the shop for you to check out.
  • Typically, the stone yard will not give you pricing. They will call the stone fabricator with the information and the stone fabricator will give you the price.
  • Once your space is ready for the stone, the stone fabricator will come to the site and template for the stone.
  • About one week later, the stone will be ready for installation. This will typically be a very fast process and makes a huge impact.

One stone fabricator that I highly recommend is Perillo Stone. This is a family run shop filled with generations of knowledge and excellent customer service.

Let me know if you need any help in the selection process.
