Winter Construction

Winter Construction projects are always a challenge… especially this winter!

This is my client’s house being built on Lake Winnipesaukee in Alton Bay, New Hampshire. Originally, it was a true “camp” with not a lot of redeeming value. It will be a beautiful “cottage” with large windows to view the lake and Mt. Major.

Just to give you a timeframe on projects like this: we started working together in June. Designed through the summer and had construction drawings done by October – this is a typical timeline for a smooth designing process with amazing clients. Structure and building permits soon followed in November. The house was torn down in late November. Winter weather has not been in their favor but the contractors are literally living on site to get this house built so that they can enjoy the house this summer. That’s one year.

Can you see the lake and the mountains through the new “family room” in the basement? Stay tuned, I’ll be posting updates!
